Thinking outside the box when promoting an affilate network program based website

Cannot deny that tens of millions have been made with affiliate network programs like Commission Junction, Linkshare, ShareASale, Google Affiliate Network & Pepperjam just to name a few. However to be successful you need traffic to your site just like any other online businesses. One of the most important things you can do is read the terms and conditions carefully or you could wake up one day and find out your account has been banned.

There are few who made that mistake, and it can happen any time, whether your not making any money, or making hundreds a day, or even thousands. Most people enrolled in these programs depend on them for revenue or other ad placements like Google Adsense. When it comes to marketing your website, be sure to never ever, ever ever use bulk email as a means. Also make sure your sites does not contain any explicit content, keep it PG-13. These are the two most important advertisement methods to avoid.

Now when it comes to promoting your website, you want to use SEO first and foremost, then you want to develop your name and brand. Create profiles on social networks so users can easily see your new updates. But before this, you want to post on sites that would in your opinion draw traffic to your site, one site in particularly, mefindcoupon.com, has a program called Share A Coupon, that allows people or local businesses to post unlimited coupons or daily deals on their site. This is a great because you can use any of your affiliate links when submitting these coupons. Whether you are enrolled in Commission Junction, Share A Sale, Link Share, or other affiliate networks, you can add your links, and earn commissions as if it were your site. If you don't have traffic going to your site, it's better to capitalize off a website that does if you can.

Other safe methods for promoting include Google Adwords or other paid ad placement programs and blogging or tweeting. You also have to be careful blogging or back linking if you decide to use those methods because they can be considered spam depending on how you go about it. The most important thinking you can do when it comes to drawing traffic to your website is thinking outside the box, also remember, it's better to do thing correctly because more than likely you have invested time and money in promoting and designing your site.

Stay tuned, my next blog will be about..... How to find your Commission Junction affiliate link, ShareASale, Google Affiliate Network, LinkShare, & PepperJam affiliate link.
